Today, I’m sharing a clear update on what’s next—for the directory, and for the community we’re building around it.
From CandleVendors to Olfabrica: A Necessary Evolution
Over the past year, I’ve been quietly building a more complete support system for scent makers. Some of you saw glimpses of related projects like CandleCamp and The Aroma Project. As they took shape, a clear truth emerged: they weren’t separate tools, but essential parts of a single workshop.
That workshop is now called Olfabrica.
Olfabrica is the open, integrated home for modern scent craft. It brings together the supplier directory, structured education, tested formulations, and practical tools—all designed for makers who value clarity over shortcuts, and shared knowledge over gatekeeping.
What This Means for the Directory You Rely On
The core mission of CandleVendors isn’t changing: to connect makers with reliable, vetted suppliers. What is changing is everything around it.
Let’s be direct: the current directory is outdated. I know this has created friction, and I apologize for that. Rather than applying a patch, we’re rebuilding it from the ground up—with better data, intuitive search, and deeper filters.
This new, powerful directory will be a core feature of Olfabrica. It won’t sit alone on a static page; it will live alongside the educational resources and formulation tools that help you make smarter decisions after you’ve found a supplier.
In short: The directory isn’t going away. It’s becoming more useful, inside a home built to support your entire craft.
