Updates For 16 February

How is it mid-February already?! C’mon, 2024, slow down for a sec.

Additions to the directory have slowed down a bit while I’ve been tinkering on the admin side. You may have noticed the front page has been updated to make it easier to search. I ditched the big welcome display banner and went straight into the map and location search. Below that is the listings block with sexy new filters on the sidebar. Helpful is the new chic.

More changes to the site design are coming as the information I bring online expands. I’ll write more on that later but there are some really cool things in the works!

There are currently 252 vendors in the directory, across 17 countries. 161 are in the US alone. Though the closure of some beloved suppliers (more than a dozen over the last 18 months) stings, we’re gaining some really bright and promising businesses as well. Support small and local businesses when you can!

Things are chugging along at our sister site, The Fragrance Oil Finder. There are 14,337 fragrance oil entries in the database. 1,698 verified and published (but not yet public). Those 14k entries (from only 15 sellers!) just barely scratch the surface of what’s available on the market especially with so many new vendors with so many releases coming online every week.

One last thing: don’t fall prey to the doom and gloom circulating in forums and such about the state of candlemaking. This is an exciting time to be a part of the industry. There’s more variety, more price points, and more overall options available to us than ever before. With options comes freedom. With freedom comes the ability to build a business you love with products that delight your customers.
